Students

We welcome the use of the NILS by students for their dissertation topics. You can start by watching this short video to get an overview of what the NILS is and the information it contains.

We currently have two student datasets available for the upcoming academic year.

  1. A pilot student dataset: Exploring the determinants of poor self-rated mental health in the Northern Ireland population
  2. Social sciences student dataset: Social inequalities, employment, generation and family structure

Please click on the project for a summary and list of included variables. If you already have an idea for a project and feel it would fit with either of these projects, contact nils@qub.ac.uk to discuss supervision options. Alternatively, if you have a proposal of your own, contact us to discuss how we can facilitate this. Please be aware that it can take some time for new project applications to be approved and ready to use so contact us as soon as possible to leave adequate time for analysis and write up of your thesis.

If you have not yet decided on a project, you can also check QUB Science Shop for ideas.
